Our Summer

We've had a fun and relaxing summer.  Carter had a birthday (June 7th) We went to the cabin at Bear Lake for the 4th of July, had a family bbq on the 24th, Jays birthday (August 7th) and went to the zoo.  Obviously there were a lot of other stuff we did to fill in the rest of the time, but you get the idea.

When Carter saw how to train your dragon for the first time last summer he said he wanted his next birthday party to be themed around that, and he never changed his mind.  So we went with it.  We had Dragons legs for lunch (fried chicken drumsticks)  with dragons scales (chips) and dragon spit (lime koolaid) or dragon blood (cherry koolaid) to drink.  Then everybody made swords and shields and practiced for dragon hunting.  Then they all had to take turns running into the dragon cave to steal an egg (balloon with a prize in it) while blocking with their shields as the other kids threw soft balls at them.  Then i had my sister-in-laws sister who is amazing at making cakes do a cake for him.  He said it was the best birthday party ever.

Mary Jaynes little girl London was our littlest viking. (and not to pleased about it as you can see)

The amazing cake.  It was so yummy! (strawberry cream)

I don't think i had any pictures of Bear lake.  It was really fun.  Most of the family was able to come up and we did fireworks and dutch oven cooking.  I love it up there.  It is so relaxing.

We've done a bunch of bbqs with family and friends this year.  I love getting together with everyone.  It's one of my favorite things about summer.  We have a much bigger yard than we do house so bbqs are wonderful.

Jay has a '73 gran torino sitting under a cover in our Driveway.  He always talks about restoring it, but hasn't got around to it yet.  So this year I decided to get him going on it.  For his birthday I got him a new car Battery and his parents got him new tires.  Yesterday he put the battery in and with a little gas it started right up.  now we just have to get the tires put on and he will be able to take it for a ride.  It gets 8 miles per gallon so it will have to be a short ride. lol.   It isn't much to look at now, but someday it will be awesome.

the Gran Torino (he took the back two tires off to get the new ones put on)

he was so excited, but also a little sleepy. (as you can see; he just woke up)

We had cake later but it was to windy to get the candles lit so he blew out some matches. lol

Last we went to the zoo with my brother JJ and his wife Katie.  We had a great time and the boys loved to see all the robotic dinosaurs they have there now.  We always love going to the zoo.  Someday i should probably break down and buy a year pass.

Well that's all for now.  Carter just had his first soccer practice and will have his first game next week. School is starting next week for Carter and Cooper goes to preschool the day after labor day.  I'm sure I'll be posting about it soon.

I guess I'm doing a blog.

My friends keep telling me that i have to start a blog. So here it is!
About our family:

Jay and I have been married for 9 years now. (May 18, 2002) We spent 2 years in California where Jay went to GIA (The Gemological Institute of America) where he went to school to become a jeweler/gemologist. (so if anybody is looking for jewelry come to him because he can almost always do it cheaper than a retail store) We then moved back to Utah, bought a house in good old Kaysville and started a family. Carter just turned 6 and Cooper is 4 1/2.

Carter is so Smart and has an amazingly kind personality. He always wants to make sure everybody is taken care of and he always tells the truth.

Carter

Cooper is a little Daredevil. Nothing scares him. When we were picking cherries and couldn't reach the top ones, he just shot up the tree without even thinking. It scares me to death and he doesn't understand why. He is such a sweetheart and loves to cuddle. I love my boys.

Cooper

I'm not really sure what else to add so we'll end on that for right now. :)
